Packaging Overhaul

I led an ambitious project to overhaul all of Tuft & Needle’s packaging resulting in a cohesive suite of shipper boxes for 18 products and retail packaging for 12 products. Consolidating all our mattress SKUs down to 3 boxes significantly reduced costs and complexity.

Serta

Mattress Packaging

I designed and redesigned several high-volume Serta mattress products sold at Walmart, Target, Costco, and Sam’s Club. There are many challenges unique to packaging and marketing these cumbersome products in a competitive category.

Tuft & Needle

My team collaborated with Snooz as well as our internal Industrial Design and Product Development teams to design, package, and bring this product to market. I led the design of the retail packaging, direct-to-consumer packaging, user guide, and retail signage and displays.

I was instrumental in bringing Tuft & Needle products into Target stores across the country. I was part of a small cross-functional team that pitched concepts to Target’s Buyer, resulting in a Tuft & Needle-branded endcap, an exclusive mattress-in-a-box product, and product placements in 600 stores nationwide.

Kids Bedding Packaging

I partnered with our product development team to launch a suite of 4 retail-ready kids bedding products. I designed an inexpensive fully-recyclable packaging system that consisted of rigid kraft corrugated trays and elevated matte paperboard sleeves. I worked closely with our overseas packaging vendor to prototype and refine the packaging to ensure all our products fit snuggly and would arrive at our stores in pristine condition.
