In 2021, I led an ambitious project to overhaul all of Tuft & Needle’s packaging. I gathered insights and historical data from our Product Development, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Marketing, and Retail teams to align on our goals and the scope of the project. I created an RFP, met with over a dozen agencies, and ultimately received six proposals. I worked with our leadership team to secure a budget and align on our agency partner.

The goal of our project was to design a cohesive suite of shipper boxes (for 18 products) and retail packaging (for 12 products). We needed to correct years of inefficiencies and inconsistencies and support our brand’s expansion into new retailers and the Canadian market.

Over the course of six months, we uncovered substantial opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Most notably, we consolidated all of our mattress SKUs down to a system of three boxes.
